Margaret Thatcher and Ayatollah Khomeini, but also the Sony Walkman and Apocalypse Now… All from 1979, a year that might not stand out in the history books as much as 1968 or 1989, but which was the stage for changes that still shape the world today. Structured around Peter Weiss’s novel The Aesthetics of Resistance, this exhibition relives this key year.
